    4. Beneficiaries
    5. Noonlight originally started as a way to get students from one point to another safely, and now it allows users to connect other apps and smart devices through the Noonlight app. This creates a way for users to get help even when they are unable or unaware of the emergency by allowing the connected app or device to trigger the Noonlight alarm for them. Therefore, every user who uses this app are benefitial from this project.

    6. Users
    7. In the beginning, due to a fact that this app is created in the university, the first round of users must be the students.

    9. Noonlight is able to obtain users' exact GPS location within 5 meters in seconds of triggering the alarm.

    10. Principle
    11. This creates a way for users to get help even when they are unable or unaware of the emergency by allowing the connected app or device to trigger the Noonlight alarm for them. This solution also sends first responders vital details to make them more aware of the situation and better prepared.

    B. Depening

  • Noonlight: Feel Protected 24/7
    1. Noonlight
    2. Carriers and actors of the project
    3. As what mentioned above, noonlight has cooprated with other apps, for instance, Tinder has partnered with Noonlight to give you backup every time you meet up with someone new.
If you’re in the U.S., connect Noonlight to Tinder so you can:
      1. Add a badge to your chat threads and let people know you’re protected by Noonlight.
      2. Share where, when and who you’re meeting IRL via Noonlight’s Timeline feature.
      3. Discreetly trigger emergency services if you’re feeling uneasy or in need of help.

    4. Research question
    5. 1. How can we enhance our female user-group one step further after cooperating with several companies?
      2. How data from high accident areas or time periods can improve or help women to further prevent or protect themselves?

    6. The reason why I selected this project
    7. Noonlight is a unique app that lets you deal with potential threats as well as actual threats. It works in two ways – firstly, you can use it when you’re not sure whether to call 911 or not. Secondly, you can use it when you’re actually in trouble and want the help from authorities.
Meanwhile, women's status and security of life have been greatly compromised since the COVID-19 has started, it is necessary to find the balance point about how to protect while not preventing from going outside for fun.

  • Technical analysis
    1. General principle
    2. Firstly, using product when detecting an emergency and calling Noonlight's Dispatch API; secondly, Noonlight will contact user via text or phone call; thirdly, Noonlight will contect appropriate emergency services if unable to confirm user's safety; finally, first responders will provide fast and informed response, using rich data shared by Noonlight.

    3. Technical overview - API version
    4. -Noonlight REST API v1.0.
The Noonlight API enables developers to integrate emergency service dispatching, such as Police and EMS, with their applications.
The API creates an alarm when an API call is made which is handled by one of the dispatchers at Noonlight's 24/7 monitoring centers.
      Filtered #Safety in the first priority; #B2B, #Emergency, #Fire, #Internet of Things, #Monitoring, #Police, #Security in the second priority.
The API can be utilized to create alarms, update an alarm status, retrieve alarm information, and update persons.

More info about Noonlight REST API v1.0

      -Dispatch API
Simplify multi-channel message delivery with one powerful API. It could be used through Dispatch API to customize your messaging logic.
Dispatch API is used to interact with backend services though a customized server token.
Indicate "camera" as the “triggering event” to send in the footage associated with the alarm for Noonlight's dispatcher to review.
Besides, if your use case requires dispatching on a non-static emergency location, you can send location updates to the Dispatch API.

      More info about Dispatch API

    5. Add value thanks to APIs
    6. Firstly, APIs create a direct channel between clients and backend services, it saves a lot of time. Besides, connecting to APIs, and creating applications that consume the data or functionality exposed by APIs, can be done with a distributed integration platform that connects everything, hence, the info could be transfer to designated destination.
